Hello, art fam! 🌟
Today, we’re diving into the delicate beauty of seashells. These treasures from the ocean may seem simple at first glance, but they’re packed with opportunities to challenge and refine your drawing skills. With their intricate patterns, swirling shapes, and dynamic textures, seashells help us explore the art of observation and the magic of detail.

For today’s exercise, I chose to sketch three different shells. Each one offered its own lesson:
- The spiral shell showed me how to capture curved shapes with precision.
- The fan-shaped scallop taught me about symmetry and soft ridges.
- The smooth clam shell allowed me to play with light and shadow to create depth.

How to Approach It:
- Start with the Basics: Lightly sketch the overall shape of each shell. Keep it simple!
- Build Texture Gradually: Pay attention to patterns and lines, adding them gently as you build confidence.
- Master Light and Shadow: Use shading to emphasize depth and detail. Remember, soft pressure on your pencil can create beautiful gradients.
The best part? Seashells remind us to enjoy the journey. Each line, each curve, each tiny detail reflects your growing skill as an artist.
