ARTIST COMMUNITY

Terms of Participation

Effective Date: 08.02.2026
Last Updated: 08.02.2026

Welcome to the Community.

The Tila the Artist community exists as a space where collectors, creatives, and culture lovers gather to celebrate Black art, deepen cultural knowledge, and support each other’s creative and collecting journeys.

These terms govern participation in all Tila the Artist community spaces – including the member portal, course discussion threads, the Facebook community group, email community communications, live and virtual events, and the Tila Bucks rewards program.

Participating in any part of this community means you read these terms, understood them, and agree to them completely.

SECTION 1: WHO THIS COMMUNITY SERVES

The Tila the Artist community welcomes anyone who shows up with genuine curiosity, cultural respect, and the willingness to engage authentically with Black art, Black culture, and the creative and collecting practices this community centers.

Membership eligibility:

Participation requires a registered Tila the Artist account. Account holders must be 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the age requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

One account per person. Accounts belong to individuals, not organizations or shared groups.

SECTION 2: COMMUNITY VALUES AND STANDARDS

These values define what this community is and how it operates. Every member participates in upholding them.

2.1 Cultural Respect

Black art, Black creative practice, Black collecting, and Black cultural knowledge sit at the center of this community. Every interaction, every piece of feedback, every resource shared honors that center.

Members engage with Black cultural content, Black history, and Black artistic tradition with full respect, genuine curiosity, and the recognition that this community centers Black experience by design and with purpose.

2.2 Authentic Engagement

This community grows through real responses – specific observations, honest reflections, genuine questions, and meaningful contributions.

Members bring their genuine selves to every interaction. Performative engagement, hollow affirmations, and content posted solely for self-promotion without community value does not serve this space.

2.3 Generous Feedback

Members who share creative work, collecting decisions, or personal reflections do so in a space that responds with care and specificity.

Feedback aims to deepen understanding and support growth. Members lead with what they genuinely observe before offering suggestions. Members never use this space to diminish, rank, or compare other members’ work or choices.

2.4 Cultural Humility

Members arrive at different levels of art knowledge, collecting experience, and cultural background. This community holds space for every level with equal dignity.

Members treat every question as worthy of a genuine answer. Members treat every stage of the creative or collecting journey as equally valid. The first-time collector and the serious collector learn from each other here.

2.5 Community Safety

This space stays safe for Black voices, Black experience, and Black creative expression. Members take active responsibility for maintaining that safety through how they show up in every interaction.

SECTION 3: CONDUCT STANDARDS

3.1 Required Conduct

Members of the Tila the Artist community commit to the following at all times:

Respect – Treat every member with dignity and genuine care regardless of experience level, background, or perspective.

Specificity – Give specific, thoughtful responses to other members’ work and contributions. Generic or dismissive responses do not serve this community.

Honesty – Share genuine responses, honest reflections, and authentic experiences. This community values truth over performance.

Contribution – Show up as a participant, not only a consumer. The community grows through what members give, not only what they receive.

Attribution – Give proper credit when sharing artwork, ideas, or content created by others. Always name the artist, creator, or source.

3.2 Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct results in immediate content removal and may result in account suspension or permanent removal from the community:

Harassment and Discrimination
Any content, comment, or behavior that harasses, demeans, threatens, or discriminates against any person based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, age, or any other characteristic.

Hate Speech
Content that promotes hatred, dehumanization, or violence toward any group of people. Content that appropriates, mocks, or disrespects Black cultural heritage in any form.

Spam and Unsolicited Promotion
Posting promotional content, advertisements, affiliate links, or self-promotional material without explicit permission from Tila the Artist. Repeated posting of identical or near-identical content across multiple threads.

Misinformation
Sharing demonstrably false information about art history, Black cultural history, artists, market information, or any other topic relevant to this community.

Intellectual Property Violations
Sharing artwork, written content, video, or other creative work without proper attribution and permission from the rights holder.

Privacy Violations
Sharing another member’s personal information, private communications, or identifying details without their explicit consent.

Predatory Behavior
Any attempt to exploit, manipulate, solicit, or take advantage of other community members through deceptive, coercive, or predatory means.

Platform Manipulation
Any attempt to manipulate the Tila Bucks system, circumvent earning limits, create duplicate accounts, transfer points deceptively, or exploit the rewards program in ways that violate its stated terms.

3.3 Content Standards

All content posted in Tila the Artist community spaces must meet these standards:

  • Content relates genuinely to art, culture, collecting, creative practice, or community life
  • Content treats all people with dignity
  • Content credits all sources, artists, and creators appropriately
  • Content posted in course discussion spaces connects to the course material and serves fellow students
  • Content shared in community threads contributes genuine value to the conversation

SECTION 4: TILA BUCKS PROGRAM TERMS

4.1 Earning Tila Bucks

Tila Bucks accrue through qualifying purchases, community actions, course completions, referrals, and event attendance as described on the Tila Bucks program page.

Point values, earning categories, and qualifying actions are subject to change. Changes post to the Tila Bucks program page with 30 days notice before taking effect.

Tila the Artist reserves the right to verify all qualifying actions before crediting points. Points credited in error may be corrected at any time.

4.2 Tila Bucks Validity

Tila Bucks remain valid as long as the associated account shows at least one qualifying activity within any rolling 12-month period. Qualifying activity includes purchases, course progress, community posts, event attendance, or any other action that earns Tila Bucks.

Accounts showing no qualifying activity for 12 consecutive months enter inactive status. Inactive accounts receive one email notification before points expire. Points in inactive accounts expire 30 days after the notification email sends.

4.3 Redemptions

Redemptions process within 48 hours of a submitted request. Physical rewards – signed prints, custom commissions – ship within the timeframe stated at redemption.

Redemptions are final. Tila Bucks deducted for a completed redemption do not return to the account unless the reward cannot be fulfilled, in which case the full point value returns within 5 business days.

Rewards subject to availability. Tila the Artist will offer a comparable alternative if a specific reward becomes unavailable after redemption.

4.4 Tier Status

Tier status reflects cumulative Tila Bucks earned, not current balance. Spending Tila Bucks on redemptions does not reduce tier status.

Tier status holds for a full calendar year from the date of achievement. Annual tier recalculation happens on the account anniversary date based on total points earned in the preceding 12 months.

4.5 Program Integrity

Tila Bucks carry real monetary value in the form of redeemable rewards. Any attempt to manipulate, exploit, or fraudulently obtain Tila Bucks results in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of all accumulated points.

Prohibited actions include creating multiple accounts to multiply earning opportunities, falsely claiming qualifying actions, exploiting technical errors to accumulate unearned points, and any form of coordinated manipulation of the referral system.

4.6 Program Changes

Tila the Artist reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Tila Bucks program at any time. Material changes to earning rates, redemption values, or tier thresholds post with 30 days advance notice.

In the event of program discontinuation, all members receive a minimum 60-day window to redeem accumulated points before expiration.

SECTION 5: COURSES AND EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

5.1 Access and Enrollment

Course enrollment grants the enrolling individual lifetime access to all course materials as they exist at the time of enrollment and all future updates to those materials.

Lifetime access belongs to the individual account holder. Course access does not transfer to another person. Account sharing for the purpose of granting multiple people access to a single enrollment violates these terms.

5.2 Course Content Ownership

All course video content, PDF materials, workbooks, reference guides, and supplementary materials belong to Tila the Artist and are protected by copyright.

Members receive a personal, non-transferable license to use course materials for their own learning and creative practice. Members may not reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, or publicly display course materials in any form without explicit written permission from Tila the Artist.

Sharing course login credentials, downloading and redistributing course videos, or reproducing PDF materials for distribution outside the course platform violates these terms and applicable copyright law.

5.3 Course Community Spaces

Discussion spaces within each course serve enrolled students. Content posted in course discussion threads becomes part of the community learning environment.

By posting in course discussion spaces, members grant Tila the Artist a non-exclusive license to feature that content – including artwork photographs and written reflections – in community spotlights, marketing materials, and course promotional content, with proper attribution. Members who prefer their content stay private within the course space may note that preference in their post.

5.4 Creative Work Ownership

Members retain full ownership of all creative work they produce through the courses – including paintings, color studies, and written reflections. Completing a course does not transfer any ownership of student creative work to Tila the Artist.

When Tila the Artist features member artwork in a Community Spotlight, the member receives full credit and retains complete ownership of the work.

SECTION 6: EVENTS AND POP-UPS

6.1 Event Participation

Attendance at Tila the Artist events – live pop-ups, virtual community events, gallery appearances, and the annual Culture Collective Celebration – constitutes agreement to conduct yourself in accordance with these community standards at all times during the event.

Events may be photographed and recorded for community and marketing purposes. By attending, you grant Tila the Artist permission to photograph and record your attendance and to use those images and recordings in community content and marketing materials. Members who prefer not to be photographed may communicate that preference directly to Tila the Artist staff at any event.

6.2 Event Tila Bucks

Tila Bucks earned through event attendance post within 48 hours of verified attendance. Virtual event attendance verification uses login data. Live event attendance verification uses check-in confirmation at the event.

6.3 Refunds and Cancellations

Events requiring Tila Bucks for admission – as opposed to complimentary tier access – process refunds of Tila Bucks for cancellations made more than 48 hours before the event start time. Cancellations within 48 hours of the event do not qualify for Tila Bucks refund.

In the event Tila the Artist cancels or postpones an event, all Tila Bucks used for admission return to member accounts within 5 business days.

SECTION 7: PURCHASES AND COMMERCE

7.1 Original Artwork Sales

Original artwork sales are final. Tila the Artist takes every step to represent artwork accurately through high-quality photographs, detailed measurements, and honest descriptions of medium and condition.

If an original artwork arrives damaged in shipping, contact Tila the Artist within 5 business days of receipt with photographic documentation of the damage. Tila the Artist works with the shipping carrier and the collector to reach a fair resolution.

7.2 Print Sales

Prints may be returned within 14 days of receipt if they arrive in a condition materially different from how they were described. Contact Tila the Artist within 5 business days of receipt to initiate a return. Return shipping costs fall to the buyer unless the print arrived damaged or materially misrepresented.

7.3 Commission Agreements

Custom commissions operate under a separate Commission Agreement signed by both parties before work begins. The Commission Agreement governs deposit requirements, completion timelines, revision parameters, delivery terms, and final payment.

These community terms govern the relationship between Tila the Artist and the collector throughout the commission process. The Commission Agreement governs the specific terms of the individual commission.

7.4 Tila Bucks and Purchases

Tila Bucks credits from purchases post within 24 hours of order confirmation. Tila Bucks do not apply retroactively to purchases made before account creation.

Tila Bucks discounts applied at checkout reduce the purchase total for payment purposes but do not reduce the Tila Bucks earned from that purchase. You earn points on the pre-discount purchase amount.

SECTION 8: PRIVACY AND DATA

8.1 Information We Collect

Tila the Artist collects the information you provide when creating your account, making purchases, enrolling in courses, and participating in community spaces. This includes your name, email address, location, purchase history, course progress, Tila Bucks activity, and content you post in community spaces.

8.2 How We Use Your Information

Your information supports your community experience – personalizing your Tila Bucks dashboard, tracking course progress, processing purchases, sending community communications you opted into, and recognizing community contributions like monthly spotlights.

Tila the Artist does not sell your personal information to third parties.

8.3 Community Content

Content you post publicly in community spaces – discussion threads, course forums, community group posts – is visible to other community members. Post only content you feel comfortable sharing with the full community.

8.4 Communications

By creating a Tila the Artist account, you opt into transactional communications – order confirmations, course access notifications, Tila Bucks updates. You may opt into community and marketing communications separately. Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time through the unsubscribe link in any email.

8.5 Data Security

Tila the Artist uses industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your account and personal information. Your data stays encrypted and handled securely in accordance with our full Privacy Policy.

SECTION 9: MODERATION AND ENFORCEMENT

9.1 Content Moderation

Tila the Artist moderates community spaces actively. Content that violates these terms faces removal without prior notice.

Moderation decisions rest with Tila the Artist and designated community moderators. Moderators act in good faith to uphold community values and these terms consistently.

9.2 Enforcement Steps

Minor or first-time violations typically receive a direct message explaining the issue and requesting a change in behavior.

Repeated violations, serious violations, or conduct that causes genuine harm to community members results in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the community depending on the severity and pattern of the conduct.

9.3 Account Suspension and Removal

Tila the Artist reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that violates these terms, disrupts the community, or engages in conduct incompatible with the values this community holds.

Suspended or removed accounts forfeit all Tila Bucks balances and lose access to all course materials and community spaces. Refunds for course enrollments or product purchases do not accompany account removal for conduct violations.

9.4 Appeals

Members who believe a moderation decision was made in error may submit an appeal by contacting Tila the Artist through the Contact page within 14 days of the decision. Appeals receive a response within 7 business days. Moderation decisions on appeal are final.

SECTION 10: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

10.1 Tila the Artist Content

All original artwork, course content, brand materials, website copy, PDF guides, video content, and community materials created by Tila the Artist are protected by copyright and belong exclusively to Tila Burnett trading as Tila the Artist.

10.2 Member Content

Members retain ownership of all original content they create and post in community spaces. By posting content in Tila the Artist community spaces, members grant Tila the Artist a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to feature, share, and display that content within community spaces and in community-related marketing with proper attribution.

10.3 Reporting Violations

Members who believe their intellectual property rights have been violated in this community may report the violation through the Contact page. Tila the Artist reviews all reports and takes appropriate action.

SECTION 11: LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Tila the Artist provides community spaces, courses, and the Tila Bucks program in good faith and with genuine care. Participation in this community and use of all associated services is at the member’s own discretion.

Tila the Artist’s liability for any claim arising from community participation, course content, Tila Bucks program operation, or product purchase is limited to the amount paid by the member for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

Tila the Artist is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from community participation.

SECTION 12: CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Tila the Artist may update these terms as the community grows and evolves. Material changes post to this page with the updated effective date and a summary of what changed.

Members receive email notification of material changes to these terms. Continued participation in the community after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

SECTION 13: GOVERNING LAW

These terms govern under the laws of the State of Colorado. Any dispute arising from community participation or these terms resolves through good-faith communication first. Disputes that cannot resolve through direct communication fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Denver County, Colorado.
