The Wandering Woman Series is an ongoing body of original paintings exploring what it means to walk your own path — freely, fully, and without apology.
Each canvas follows the same solitary figure: a Black woman moving through vivid, sun-soaked landscapes — wheat fields, open horizons, endless skies. She is never looking back. She is always facing forward, chest open to the light, walking toward something only she can see.
This series was born from a simple question: what does freedom actually look like? Not the idea of it, but the feeling — the posture, the color, the light. Each painting is my attempt to answer that question a little differently, using bold color and expressive brushwork to capture moments of healing, self-discovery, and quiet strength.
Every woman in this series carries her own chapter — a different landscape, a different light, a different stage of the journey. But they share a common thread: movement. Growth. The courage to keep going.
Together, they form a larger narrative about what it means to become — again and again, one step at a time.
Every piece in the Wandering Woman Series is an original, hand-painted acrylic on canvas. No prints. No reproductions. Each work is one of one, made to be lived with, not just looked at.
Whether you’re drawn to a single piece or building a collection across the series, each painting stands on its own — while contributing to a larger story of freedom and self-discovery.
